Unity 3D Development (Absolute Beginner) - Online

In this 6-week hands-on course, you'll dive into Unity3D by building your own top-down shooter game from scratch. Perfect for aspiring developers and game design enthusiasts, the course covers the Unity editor, scripting fundamentals, world-building tools, enemy AI, and interactive UI systems. By the end, you'll have a fully functional game and a clear understanding of how to bring game ideas to life with Unity.

Class 1: Unity Editor & Game World Basics

• Overview of Unity Editor: Scene, Hierarchy, Game, Inspector, and Project windows
• Creating a new project and organizing folders
• Adding basic GameObjects to the scene (player, ground)

Class 2: Intro to C# Scripting in Unity

• Creating and attaching scripts
• Variables, Update vs Start, basic input
• Moving a player GameObject with keyboard input

Class 3: Player Movement & Physics

• Rigidbody vs CharacterController
• Scripting 2D/3D movement (top-down logic)
• Physics settings (drag, gravity)

Class 4: Shooting Projectiles & Using Colliders

• Spawning and launching bullets/projectiles
• Trigger and collision detection
• Tagging & layers for hit detection

Class 5: Prototyping with ProBuilder

• Installing and using ProBuilder
• Building walls, floors, and structures for level design
• Design a basic game arena

Class 6: Terrain & Environmental Details

• Terrain tools for elevation, painting, and texturing
• Adding lighting, skyboxes, and atmosphere
• Working with prefabs for modular level design

Class 7: Enemy Basics & AI Movement

• Creating an enemy prefab
• Enemy follows or detects player using simple distance checks
• Look-at and chasing logic

Class 8: Navigation Mesh & Pathfinding

• Baking a NavMesh
• Using NavMeshAgent for pathfinding
• Enemy patrols and obstacle avoidance

Class 9: State Machines for Enemies

• Creating states (Idle, Patrol, Chase, Attack)
• Implementing state transitions with enums or classes
• Debugging and visualizing state behavior

Class 10: Game Loop & Win/Lose Conditions

• Setting up a GameManager
• Handling game states (Start, Play, Pause, Game Over)
• Restart and game progression logic

Class 11: Unity UI Essentials

• Canvas, buttons, text, sliders
• Creating health bars and ammo indicators
• Linking UI to player and game state

Class 12: Main Menus & Final Build

• Creating title screen, pause menu, and game over screen
• Scene loading and build settings
• Final polish: sounds, particle effects, build/export the game
